TubeGen is the better all-in-one automation stack, with niche research, AI visuals, voices in eight languages and thumbnails, but its videos stop at 30 minutes and its full plans start at $149 a month. If you narrate your own videos, the best of the three is Viducer: your voiceover in, a fully edited, subtitled video out. We make Viducer. Every fact about another company here comes from that company's own site, checked on 12 October 2026, with sources at the end.

Which is better, TubeGen or VidRush?

For long videos, VidRush. It goes twice as long as TubeGen, 60 minutes against 30, and its entry plan costs $50 a month less than TubeGen's Starter. TubeGen wins on research tools, art styles and languages. Here's who wins which job:

  • Real-footage documentaries and top 10s: VidRush. One brief becomes a researched, scripted, narrated video of 6 to 60 minutes, cut from real footage. From $99 a month.
  • An all-in-one automation stack: TubeGen. Niche research, scripts, AI voices, AI images, short animations, stock footage and thumbnails in one subscription, for videos up to 30 minutes. Full plans from $149 a month.
  • Channels in languages other than English: TubeGen, with narration in eight languages. VidRush's FAQ says its videos are made in English.
  • Finished long videos from your own voiceover: Viducer, the third option. Upload your narration and get back a fully edited, subtitled video: animated up to 60 minutes in 11 looks, or a documentary cut from real footage. From $49 a month.

TubeGen: best for an all-in-one automation stack

TubeGen calls itself an AI YouTube automation tool, and it's the broader toolkit of the two: research, writing, voice, visuals, thumbnails and editing under one login.

What it is. Find a niche in its Niche Finder, generate a title and a script, then a voiceover, a picture for every scene, music and a thumbnail. The editor opens with everything already timed to the narration. Visuals mix AI images in one consistent art style, consistent characters, short AI animations, stock footage, automatic charts and maps, and AI avatars. Copy Style models another channel's style, and a Chrome extension shows outlier scores and estimated earnings on YouTube videos.

Best at:

  • Starting from nothing. A topic becomes a title, script, voice, visuals and thumbnail without leaving the app.
  • Art styles. Comic Book, Anime, Pixel Art, Pixar-style, Digital Art, Watercolor and Low Poly, or a custom style built from your own reference images.
  • Languages. Narration in English, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Polish, Czech and Korean.
  • Research in the same login. The Niche Finder and the Chrome extension put niche and outlier research next to production.

Where it falls short for long videos:

  • 30 minutes is the ceiling. The editor exports up to 30 minutes, so a 45- or 60-minute video doesn't fit in one export.
  • Short scripts on Starter. Starter caps scripts at 3,000 words, about 20 minutes of narration at a normal pace. Longer scripts need Pro, at 10,000 words for $297 a month.
  • Mostly still pictures. Starter animates 1 minute per video; the other scenes are still images with pan and zoom. Pro animates 10 minutes per video, and only Premium has no limit.
  • Your recording isn't the starting point. Its voiceover and editor pages describe AI narration and voice clones (from Pro), not uploading a finished recording.
  • No refunds. There's no free plan or trial, and TubeGen doesn't give refunds; its FAQ suggests a credit purchase to test it first.

Price, checked 12 October 2026: Starter is $149 a month, which TubeGen says gives its median user about 60 minutes of video, at a typical $2.47 per finished minute. Pro is $297 (148 minutes) and Premium $849 (438 minutes), and paying six months at a time saves 20%. Single-tool suites start at $27 a month (the Writing suite or Thumbnail Studio), with the Niche Finder alone at $33.

VidRush: best for real-footage documentaries from a brief

VidRush calls itself an AI long-form video generator, and it's the closer of the two to a documentary studio: one brief in, a researched, narrated video cut from real footage out, in under an hour by its own count.

What it is. Five specialists (researcher, scriptwriter, motion designer, editor and sound designer) work on your brief in parallel. Before anything is made, you see the plan: the script, footage choices, voice, style and estimated cost. You choose where the footage comes from: Creative Commons and public domain only, commercial stock, or the general web. The result is a 1080p MP4 with original music and motion graphics.

Best at:

  • Footage-led documentaries and top 10s. Videos of 6 to 60 minutes on well-filmed subjects: history, finance, true crime, science and nature, geopolitics, machines and transportation.
  • Hands-off production. It researches, writes and narrates with 100+ AI voices, or takes your script (up to 60 minutes), your narration as MP3 or WAV, or your voice clone.
  • Fixes after the render. In its editor you can swap clips, retime cuts, fix captions and replace the audio without starting over.

Where it falls short:

  • It needs footage to exist. Its own rule of thumb is 20 or more minutes of real footage findable online for your topic, so myths, legends and "what if" stories are a harder fit.
  • Two formats, one language. Its FAQ lists documentary and top 10 videos in English, and rules out vlogs, gaming, reactions, software tutorials, Shorts and Reels.
  • Your voiceover doesn't lower the price. Its FAQ says bringing your own narration costs the same, because credits cover the whole pipeline.
  • About 80% of the way. Its FAQ says VidRush gets you about 80% of the way, and the editor handles the rest. Its home page lists chat edits with its Rush Agent, and modeling your channel's style, as coming soon.
  • No niche or channel research. You bring the idea; VidRush researches the topic.

Price, checked 12 October 2026: Starter is $99 a month for about 8 videos or 45 minutes, Creator $239 for about 23 videos or 136 minutes, and Pro $639 for about 68 videos or 409 minutes. Yearly billing saves 20%, and its FAQ puts the cost from $2.18 per finished minute. No free plan is listed, and its terms allow a refund in the first 14 days if you haven't used any credits.

TubeGen vs Mootion, OutlierKit and 1of10

Only one of these three makes videos the way TubeGen does. TubeGen sells research as well as production, so people compare it with research tools too. Prices are from each company's pricing page on 12 October 2026.

ToolWhat it isMakes videos?Compare it withPrice from
MootionAn AI video generator for cinematic stories, from text, scripts, images or audio, in 17 output languagesYes; its pricing page states no maximum lengthTubeGen's video pipeline$15 a month, or $12 a month billed yearly
OutlierKitYouTube research: outlier videos, niche maps, keywords, competitor and script analysisNoTubeGen's Niche Finder and Chrome extension$29 a month, or $199 a year
1of10A YouTube growth tool: outlier search, ideas, titles, AI thumbnails and competitor trackingIt edits raw footage you upload, up to 30 minutes; it doesn't generate faceless videosTubeGen's research, title and thumbnail toolsA free plan; paid plans from $19 a month
  • TubeGen vs Mootion is a real video-maker comparison. Mootion is cheaper to start and broader, with templates for kids' stories, faith stories and education, and it accepts audio, including a recorded voiceover. Its pricing page doesn't state a maximum length; TubeGen states 30 minutes. Want a stated 60-minute maximum? See our Mootion alternative.
  • TubeGen vs OutlierKit and TubeGen vs 1of10 compare research, not video. Both tell you what to make; neither makes a faceless video. If you only need ideas, a research tool costs less than a full TubeGen plan, and TubeGen sells its Niche Finder alone at $33 a month. If you already have the ideas and the narration, pair a research tool with a video maker built around your voiceover.

The third option: Viducer

Viducer is a long-form AI video generator for YouTube. It makes fully edited, subtitled videos, usually in about an hour: animated videos up to 60 minutes long in 11 looks, or documentaries built from real footage.

It's the pick when you already write and narrate. TubeGen and VidRush are built to write and voice the video for you, and VidRush charges the same whether or not you bring your own narration. Viducer starts from your voice, so the script and the delivery stay yours.

  • Voiceover in, finished video out. Upload your narration as MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG, MP4 or WebM, up to 50 MB: your own voice, a hired narrator or an AI voice from any text-to-speech tool. Transcription is free.
  • Animated, up to 60 minutes. Animatica draws illustrated scenes in one of 11 looks, from Whiteboard Doodle to Cinematic Illustration, in a style copied from a YouTube link, or from up to four reference pictures of your own.
  • Documentaries from real footage. The Documentary studio cuts a 1080p AI documentary from real footage, archive photos, maps, headlines and captions, in 13 looks, up to 30 minutes depending on your plan.
  • A team of AI agents. The Director plans your narration into chapters, characters and places. The Art director locks one style from the first scene to the last. The Scene writer directs every shot to match the line being spoken, and for documentaries the Researcher searches and watches footage to find the right shot for each line. The Editor cuts everything to your voice, with subtitles timed to every word.
  • The same cast for the whole video. Animatica draws a reference picture of each main character and place before any scene, then uses them in every scene, so a character in minute one looks the same in minute fifty.
  • The plan and the price first. You approve the plan and the exact cost before anything is made, and a failed render refunds itself automatically.
  • Fix one scene, not the whole video. Animated videos open in a timeline editor: retime scenes, style captions, add music and sound effects, or describe a change and only that scene is redrawn. Exports and downloads are free.

Where it's not the pick: if you want the tool to research, write and voice the video, or you want anime looks, take TubeGen. For hands-off real-footage documentaries from a brief, take VidRush. And Animatica's scenes are drawn pictures cut to your narration, not frame-by-frame animation.
